Portfolio

Pardon the mess, this portfolio is temporary while I create a new portfolio at angryteddybear.org.

Welcome to a collection of my work. I’m currently a staff writer for Niners Nation, where I do posts, editorial and also get in front of a camera for Facebook Live segments all covering the San Francisco 49ers.  When I’m not covering the 49ers, I’m writing marketing content for websites and helping them ‘build their brand’ so to speak. I’ve also been involved in the entertainment (mostly video games) industry as a reporter and reviewer.
If you’d like to reach out to me with a possible assignment, email me at elpato543@gmail.com. You can also see my social media posts by checking me out on @patoholloway on Twitter.

Niners Nation

SB Nation's sister site dedicated to breaking news and editorial regarding the San Francisco 49ers.

There’s trouble in Foxborough -- A look at the breaking news piece at ESPN about issues with quarterback Tom Brady, his backup Jimmy Garoppolo, and head coach Bill Belichick, and how it relates to the San Francisco 49ers.

49ers will need to prepare for life without Reuben Foster, regardless of outcome -- After the second arrest to 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster, this looks at the fact regardless if the 49ers decide to release him, they need to plan for him to be suspended from the team for a long time.

Report: NFL Salary cap set -- A short piece on the confirmation of the 2018 salary cap.

Report: Saquon Barkley in the mix as the No.1 pick -- Quick piece on the latest with the 2018 NFL Draft.

Blueprint Registry

A startup focused on making it easy for wedding guests to buy gifts for the groom/bride, I took over Blueprint's blog in 2016, helping them identify their audience (75 percent female, now THAT was a learning experience for someone who writes towards a fired-up male audience), develop a content strategy, and build their brand. When I was done, I had a clear direction for how their consumer-facing content should be structured under budget and also learned how to adjust my writing style for a completely different audience.

Note: Due to a recent redesign in BPR's blog since my departure, most of my work has been relocated. So far, this is what I was able to hunt down:

Product Profile: Spiralizer -- A part of a series focused on lesser known items you can add to your registry. This one is all about spiralizers.

10 Wedding Registry Ideas for the Couple That Has Everything -- A post detailing some out of the box ideas for couples to add to their registry.

Product Profile: Blenders -- Another segment focusing on identifying items for a registry.
